UP 3: Die Wahl der fantastischen Möglichkeit

This collection of tracks developed during Adam Lieber's and Niklas Zimmer's collaborative work on the soundtrack for a theatre piece of the same name, commissioned by Yvette Coetzee from Moya en Aarde Theatre company in Berlin, October of 2002.

The vibe of this production is haunting, lonely, beautiful, crazy...The music was somehow all about losing oneself. Adam and Niklas recorded for many hours in an icy cellar in the German winter, beating drums, scratching records, fiddling with junk gear and children's toys, playing it all back loud while recording, and tuning the feedback with hands clamped around the mics. Finally, some gems torn from this abyss of lo-fi were made to sound golden in the mastering suite of the renowned 'Soundstudio N' in Cologne.

The cardboard cover by nurse!designs shows some of the sketchy lists of filenames and numbers exchanged between London(Adam), Bonn(Niklas) and Berlin(Yvette).
